B & G Update: November 15, 2015

Buildings and Grounds Update

The City of Medford has (finally!) approved St. Mark’s property line adjustment.  We will be able to retain almost all of the space between the parish hall and Hafer House.  Hooray!

It is not practical to sell Hafer House with attached garages that cross the new property line, so the next step is demolition of some of the garages.

St. Mark's is on the agenda for the December 1st Medford Historical Commission meeting, seeking a second approval to demolish the garages.  (Demolition was approved during the Building for Ministry campaign many years ago, but that approval has long since expired.)  We are applying for a two-stage demolition permit.  The plan is to demolish the two garages adjacent to Hafer House in order to sell Hafer House.  We will continue to use the other three and will demolish them when Hafer House sells and we need space for new construction.
