At St. Mark's, we believe that everyone is called to be an evangelist--after all, our patron saint is "St. Mark the Evangelist!" This involves both the living out of one's faith in day-to-day life AND the explicit conversations about faith and inviting others to share in our common church life.

There are also explicit ministries of evangelism involving a number of designated people. These “ministers” include greeters, hosts at our weekly coffee hours, members of the Evangelism Commission, etc...

Many of those who perform this ministry are organized and strive to engage their tasks in a structured way – greeters, for example, who are assigned according to a schedule and are given written instructions about what to do. Other members of the congregation exercise their ministry in ways that are spontaneous – a smile and a casual word of welcome … or simply by wearing their nametag through coffee hour.

Our “Music at St. Mark’s” series opens the doors of our church to a much wider community who sees St. Mark’s as the home of a very high standard of musical excellence. In recent years, special performances included the Worcester Cathedral Men and Boys Choirs and the Tudor Choir of Seattle, unparalleled performance in the whole of the Rogue Valley.

Music at St. Mark's - The Music at St. Mark's season begins each fall with the concert series announced in September. The St. Cecilia Society is composed of donors who support the Music at St. Mark's concert series.
