Sermons from the Triduum
March 31, 2024, 2:26 PM

It has been a long series of services, and all of the sermons delivered are below. It was a fruitful time for the church to traverse the Triduum. We have been invited to follow the steps of Jesus from Maundy Thursday with the institution of the Eucharist and the law of love and service. Then into Good Friday with the contemplation of the trial, crucifixion, and burial and that period of “in-between time.” We paused on Saturday and considered the coming of the Resurrection but never forgetting the sacrifice and separation of Holy Saturday. Last night we kindled the new fire and heard the story of deliverance and celebrated the first moments of the Resurrection. Today was a festive time to celebrate the Resurrection and what that means as we live our “everyday life” being a witness for God.

We are also reminded, the message of Easter which can get lost is death is not the end. While we will physically die, God through Jesus shows us that there is something which transcends the day-to-day life we live. We are reminded that Jesus is there with us, we simply need to look. We need to be honest about what we’re looking for but we also need to be ready to be surprised by God.

Happy Easter and blessings to you all. I invite your comments,
